Easier said than done, sure. But it's more about reading the opponent's and memorizing their attack patterns and going in. Dark Souls is more about technique and build, IMO.

Not only that, but monster's hitbox tend to be much larger and last much longer than most enemy in DS. MH always was more about positioning than evade timing (even if it's still pretty useful to master i-frames, obviously) WebSo DS2 I'd say is overall a little easier if not on par with DS1. There's the agility stat you should pay attention to, as that determines your invincibility frames when doing things like rolling. It's basically a direct difficulty setting. As for overleveling, do note that the level scaling is a lot higher than DS1 or Elden ring.

For instance I know the DWGR has more, and I think fast roll is invincible until the ass end, which is more than 3 frames.
