This is where the problem lies I believe, nodemailer doesn’t seem to be able to deal with ipv6 addresses or can’t resolve them . WebBizarrely, we found that the SMTP port is disabled for no reason on the VPS. Getting it opened involves sending lots of information. Problems like this (which shouldn't exist) cause a lot of hassle are a big red flag to us.
